A new and free iPhone app by the Auto-Tune The News folks called Songify, allows you to record a spoken-word message and then automatically turn it into a song using the vocoder auto-tune effect as popularized by Daft Punk, T-Pain, and ehm… Cher. If you’re happy with the result, you can share your song on your Facebook profile or post it to a friend’s wall. This sure is an original way of posting longer status update rants, send someone a cool birthday shout out song, or make rather boring wall messages sound like music to their ears.
By default, you can chose from three different styles (Double Rainbow is pop, Deluge is electro style and Hotlanta sounds like modern hip hop), but you can buy additional instrumentals and style packs from within the app for 99 cents.
